JENNIE’s Grammy Buzz Has Three Different Stories
JENNIE’s name is back in the Grammy conversation—and the interesting part is how many sides of her artistry the reported entries bring together.
An October 10 report from Business Upturn describes a circulating submission list involving “Dracula” with Tame Impala, Ruby (The Complete Collection) and a “like JENNIE” remix. The reported “Dracula” categories include Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
That is enough to get BLINKs listening with fresh ears. It is not enough to announce a Grammy nomination—or a complete, verified ballot.
As of October 11, the reports reviewed for this article do not establish an officially confirmed list of JENNIE’s accepted entries. The Recording Academy’s nominations announcement remains the decisive next checkpoint.
The useful question is therefore bigger than “Will she win?” What exactly would each entry recognise, and which parts of the circulating story still need checking?
Why “Dracula” Is the Collaboration to Revisit
“Dracula (JENNIE Remix)” is an official Tame Impala and JENNIE release. Sony Music France published the collaboration’s official lyric video on its website in February 2026.
For BLINKs, its appeal is the change of setting. JENNIE steps into Tame Impala’s musical world while bringing the voice and personality listeners already associate with her own records. A collaboration can reveal an artist through the way they respond to someone else’s sound.
That is also why the reported categories should not be treated as interchangeable trophies. Record of the Year concerns the recording and its credited creators; Song of the Year concerns songwriting. Best Pop Duo/Group Performance addresses the collaborative performance.
The Academy’s rulebook specifies the qualifying credits for each category.
Our editorial reading: the excitement lies in seeing her work considered across different creative roles, rather than reducing the conversation to a single “K-pop first.”
The Ruby Detail That Changes the Headline
There is a genuine complication behind the album rumours.
Sony Music Japan confirms that Ruby (The Complete Collection) arrived on March 6, 2026, expanding the original album to 21 tracks. Its additions included two “like JENNIE” remixes and four JENNIE-only versions of collaborations previously available on CD.
For fans, the collection offers different ways to hear the same era: the spectacle of remixes alongside versions that put JENNIE’s voice more directly at the centre.

But a new release date does not automatically make an expanded album eligible again. The 2027 rulebook says updated, revised or expanded versions of previously submitted albums are ineligible under its general album rules. It also requires more than 66% of an album’s playing time to consist of qualifying previously unreleased recordings.
That makes claims about Ruby entering a standard album category something to verify carefully. We cannot confirm its eligibility or acceptance from a circulating list. Packaging and engineering categories have their own criteria and recipients, too; an album title appearing in such a discussion is not necessarily an artist nomination.
Asian Pop Is an Additional Category, Not the Whole Race
The Recording Academy announced five new categories for 2027, including Best Asian Pop Music Performance.
Its description covers performances originating from, or widely recognised within, Asian markets and requires meaningful use of one or more Asian languages. Eligibility therefore involves the recording itself, not just the performer’s nationality.
The category does not turn every submission by an Asian artist into an Asian Pop entry. General-field awards and other genre categories remain separate parts of the Grammy system.
For the same reason, a claim about BLACKPINK being ineligible for one category should not be rewritten as “BLACKPINK cannot enter the Grammys.” Nothing in the material establishing JENNIE’s reported submissions proves that blanket conclusion.
Her musical choices deserve a discussion of their own. Another group’s submission strategy does not determine the value of her work.

The Dates BLINKs Actually Need
The official 2027 Grammy calendar provides the clearest timeline:
| Stage | Date |
|---|---|
| Release eligibility period | August 31, 2025–August 28, 2026 |
| Online entry period | July 7–August 21, 2026 |
| First-round voting | October 12–22, 2026 |
| Nominations announced | November 16, 2026 |
| Final-round voting | December 10, 2026–January 7, 2027 |
| Grammy ceremony | February 7, 2027 |
The October reports concern purported entries made earlier; they do not mean submissions have just opened.
As the Academy’s voting guide explains, entries undergo eligibility and category screening before voting. First-round voting determines nominees; final-round voting determines winners.
This is not a public fan vote. BLINKs can celebrate, revisit the music and share thoughtful recommendations, but streaming or reposting does not cast a Grammy ballot.
What Would Make This a Meaningful JENNIE Moment?
The reported list connects an album era, a reworked solo signature and a collaboration outside BLACKPINK’s group catalogue. That is an interesting portrait of an artist building range.
For listeners, the best preparation is wonderfully simple: return to the songs. Notice what changes between a solo version and a collaboration, or between the original “like JENNIE” and its remixes. Those choices are part of the artistry, regardless of an awards result.
November 16 will answer the nomination question. Until then, the music gives BLINKs plenty to celebrate—without turning a reported submission into an achievement that has not yet been announced. 🖤💗
