From K-pop superstar to a rapidly expanding global entertainer, LISA is entering one of the most ambitious chapters of her career. Her next era is no longer defined by music alone. Instead, the BLACKPINK member is building a career that stretches across pop, film, television, documentary storytelling, live performance, fashion and creative production.
The scale of her 2026 roadmap is striking. Within a matter of months, LISA is set to introduce a new musical project, headline her own Las Vegas residency, premiere a career-spanning documentary at one of the world's major film festivals and continue expanding her acting career with Netflix.
At the center of it all is a more independent version of LISA: an artist increasingly involved not only in performing, but also in shaping the projects that carry her name.
A New Era Starts With “SaWaDiKa”
LISA’s next musical chapter begins with “SaWaDiKa,” the first single from her upcoming EP PRESS PLAY. The track is scheduled for release on September 3, 2026, giving fans the first taste of a project that promises to reveal a more personal side of the artist.
The timing is significant. Rather than returning with another standalone single disconnected from a larger narrative, LISA is using “SaWaDiKa” to open an entirely new era.
The song’s Thai-inspired identity places her heritage at the heart of the project. The title evokes the Thai greeting “sawasdee,” making the single an especially meaningful introduction to an era centered on where LISA came from and how far she has traveled.
That idea becomes even more important with PRESS PLAY.
PRESS PLAY: Looking Back While Moving Forward
LISA’s six-track EP PRESS PLAY is scheduled to arrive on October 23, 2026, following the release of “SaWaDiKa.” The project is being positioned as an intimate reflection on her journey from trainee to international superstar.
That makes PRESS PLAY more than simply the follow-up to her previous solo work. It represents an opportunity for LISA to revisit the experiences that shaped her identity while looking toward the future.
The concept connects two versions of LISA: the young Thai dancer who traveled to South Korea with dreams of becoming an artist, and the global performer who now moves comfortably between music, fashion, television and international entertainment.
The project also arrives at a fascinating point in her career. LISA has already established herself as a solo performer, but she is now entering a stage where her artistic identity extends beyond the traditional boundaries of K-pop.
PRESS PLAY therefore feels like both a continuation and a reset — a chance to press play on the next version of LISA.

From BLACKPINK Member to Global Solo Force
LISA’s solo expansion is particularly notable because it has happened across multiple industries simultaneously.
Her international profile has continued to grow through music, major cultural events, fashion and acting. Sony Music Vision describes Always Lalisa as following a pivotal period in which LISA steps away from BLACKPINK for a year of independence while confronting the pressures of launching her solo career, pursuing acting and building her own brand.
That transition is now becoming part of the story itself.
Instead of simply being known as “LISA from BLACKPINK,” she is increasingly being positioned as an individual global entertainer with projects that can stand independently from the group.
And perhaps no upcoming project captures that transformation better than her documentary.

Always Lalisa: The Story Behind the Superstar
Always Lalisa, directed by Sue Kim, will offer audiences a closer look at the person behind one of pop culture's most recognizable names.
Sony Music Vision has confirmed that the documentary will have its world premiere in the Gala programme at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival.
The film follows LISA during a pivotal year as she navigates independence, solo music, acting and brand-building while preparing for her eventual return to BLACKPINK.
That premise gives Always Lalisa an unusual position within her career. It is not simply a retrospective about how she became famous. It documents the period in which she is actively figuring out what comes next.
The film is produced by Sony Music Vision in association with RCA Records, Tremolo Productions, Salt Water Productions and LLOUD CO., with Sue Kim directing and producing alongside Courtney Crockett.
For fans, the documentary could become one of the defining records of LISA's transition from group superstar to independent global artist.
LISA Takes on the Action World With TYGO
If Always Lalisa explores LISA’s real-life journey, TYGO will introduce audiences to an entirely different side of her.
The Netflix feature is part of the Extraction universe, expanding the franchise into a Korean setting. It stars Don Lee, Lee Jin-uk and LISA, marking LISA’s first major film role after her acting debut in The White Lotus Season 3.
The movie follows Tygo, a former child soldier turned mercenary, as he becomes involved in a revenge mission through Korea’s underworld after a mission goes wrong.
LISA’s involvement is particularly significant because the project represents her move from television into feature filmmaking.
Netflix has described TYGO as a new chapter of the Extraction universe, bringing together Korean filmmaking talent and the global scale of the franchise. Lee Sang-yong directs the film, while Cha Woo-jin wrote the screenplay.
For LISA, it is also a chance to enter a completely different performance environment.
After years of mastering choreography and live performance, she is now being asked to communicate through character, dialogue and cinematic storytelling.
That is a very different skill set — and one that could ultimately make her entertainment career even more versatile.

From Action to Romance
But LISA isn't limiting herself to action roles.
Netflix is also developing an untitled romantic comedy inspired by Notting Hill, with LISA attached to lead and executive produce. The project is being developed with producer David Bernad and writer Katie Silberman.
The film represents a dramatic contrast to TYGO.
Where TYGO places LISA inside a large-scale action franchise, the romantic comedy could allow her to explore a lighter, more character-driven style of acting.
It also demonstrates the breadth of her ambitions. She is not simply accepting whichever acting opportunity arrives next. Instead, her developing filmography is already beginning to span very different genres.
Most importantly, her executive-producer involvement suggests that LISA’s relationship with filmmaking could extend beyond acting. She is gradually becoming involved in the creative and production side of entertainment as well.
“VIVA LA LISA”: Making Las Vegas History
Then comes the stage.
In November 2026, LISA will take over The Colosseum at Caesars Palace for VIVA LA LISA, a four-show Las Vegas residency scheduled for November 13–14 and November 27–28.
Sony Music Vision has described the run as the first Las Vegas residency by a K-pop artist, adding another milestone to LISA’s growing list of career firsts. All four shows reportedly sold out in under ten minutes.
A residency is fundamentally different from a conventional tour.
Instead of constantly moving between cities, LISA gets the opportunity to build a dedicated performance environment around her own identity. The format allows an artist to create a more theatrical, concentrated show — one designed specifically around the performer rather than a broader touring schedule.
For LISA, that makes VIVA LA LISA another step toward establishing herself as a standalone entertainment brand.
The significance extends beyond the four performances themselves. A Las Vegas residency places her in a tradition historically associated with major international performers and demonstrates the scale of demand surrounding her solo career.

Fashion Becomes Part of the Story
Music and film may be receiving the biggest headlines, but fashion remains one of the most important pillars of LISA’s global image.
Her upcoming Bratz collaboration brings her distinctive fashion identity into the world of the iconic doll franchise, combining pop culture, styling and collectible design.
The partnership makes sense from both sides.
Bratz has always been associated with bold fashion personalities, while LISA has developed a reputation for transforming stage styling, luxury fashion and streetwear into part of her artistic identity.
A collaboration between the two creates an opportunity to turn that visual identity into something tangible.
It also reinforces a larger pattern in LISA’s career: her image is no longer simply something attached to her music. It has become a creative asset capable of moving across entertainment, fashion and lifestyle.
The Producer Era
One of the most interesting elements of LISA's next chapter is her growing involvement behind the scenes.
Acting is one thing. Executive producing is another.
With projects such as the Netflix romantic comedy, LISA is beginning to participate in entertainment at a deeper level. That evolution could ultimately prove just as important as her transition from singer to actress.
Performers who become involved in production gain greater control over the stories they tell, the projects they develop and the way their public identities evolve.
For LISA, this could represent the beginning of a much longer-term career strategy.
Instead of being limited to performing other people's ideas, she can increasingly become part of deciding which ideas reach the audience in the first place.
Why 2026 Is Such a Defining Year
Taken individually, each project would represent a major achievement.
A new EP would be enough to define a musical era.
A major Netflix film would be enough to signal an acting breakthrough.
A documentary premiere at TIFF would be enough to mark an important cultural moment.
A Las Vegas residency would be enough to establish a new live-performance milestone.
But LISA is doing all of these things within the same career period.
That is what makes 2026 so significant.
Her career is expanding horizontally rather than simply moving forward in a straight line.
She is not leaving music behind to become an actress.
She is not abandoning acting for fashion.
She is not choosing between live performance and filmmaking.
Instead, she is building an ecosystem in which all of these areas reinforce one another.
A New Definition of the Soloist
The traditional idea of a K-pop soloist is relatively straightforward: release music, promote it, perform it and begin the next album cycle.
LISA’s current trajectory looks very different.
Her music can introduce a new creative identity. Her documentary can tell the story behind that identity. Her acting projects can introduce her to audiences who may not primarily follow K-pop. Her residency can transform her music into a theatrical live experience. And her fashion collaborations can translate her visual identity into products and cultural moments.
Each piece supports the others.
That is the real story behind LISA’s roadmap.
It is not simply a list of upcoming projects.
It is the construction of a global entertainment career.
From Lalisa to LISA
There has always been a distinction between LISA the performer and Lalisa the person behind the stage name.
Her upcoming projects appear increasingly interested in exploring both.
SaWaDiKa brings her Thai heritage forward.
PRESS PLAY looks back at the journey that transformed her into a global icon.
Always Lalisa explores the person navigating independence and international fame.
TYGO allows her to become someone else entirely through acting.
The Netflix romantic comedy opens another creative door.
VIVA LA LISA turns her name into a live entertainment experience.
And fashion collaborations continue to transform her recognizable image into a broader cultural brand.
The result is a career that feels increasingly self-defined.
The Road Ahead
LISA’s next chapter is not about proving that she can succeed outside BLACKPINK. Her solo achievements have already established that.
The more interesting question now is how far she can take the world she is building for herself.
With SaWaDiKa arriving on September 3, PRESS PLAY following on October 23, Always Lalisa heading to TIFF, TYGO expanding her film career, a new romantic comedy in development, VIVA LA LISA preparing to make Las Vegas history and fashion collaborations extending her influence beyond music, LISA is entering a period unlike any other in her career.
The former trainee from Thailand who dreamed of becoming a performer has become a global artist with opportunities spanning continents and industries.
And perhaps the biggest evolution is that LISA is no longer simply participating in the entertainment world.
She is beginning to shape her own place within it.
