Lisa Opens Up About Music, Acting and BLACKPINK on In Your Dreams With Owen Thiele

Lisa's Solo Ventures and Creative Freedom

BLACKPINK's Lisa recently offered fans an intimate glimpse into her career and personal life during an appearance on In Your Dreams With Owen Thiele. The conversation spanned her solo music, acting endeavors, the early days of BLACKPINK, and several lighthearted anecdotes.

Lisa shared details about the creation of her "SaWaDiKa" music video, which was filmed in Thailand over three days. She highlighted the incorporation of Thai cultural elements, locations, and instruments into the production. Discussing her label, Lloud, Lisa explained that its launch was driven by a desire for greater creative freedom, allowing her to contribute more significantly to concepts, lyrics, and production ideas.

Reflecting on her solo performances, Lisa admitted to feeling nervous before her Coachella stage. She also revealed exciting plans for a Las Vegas residency in November. Looking ahead, one of her biggest career aspirations is to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show.

Stepping into Acting

Lisa delved into her acting journey, detailing how she secured her role in The White Lotus Season 3. She initially auditioned via a self-tape filmed in Los Angeles before a direct audition with creator Mike White. Interestingly, Lisa intentionally avoided reading the entire script, preferring to experience the story unfold alongside viewers.

She also disclosed that she recently completed filming for Taigo, an upcoming action movie shot in Korea and Jakarta.

BLACKPINK's Enduring Bond and Early Challenges

Before achieving global stardom, Lisa harbored dreams of becoming a dance teacher or even a character dancer at Disneyland. Her path changed when she joined YG Entertainment at just 14, selected from approximately 4,000 auditionees.

Moving to Korea without knowing the language presented a significant challenge. Lisa recounted taking two hours of language lessons daily for years, with Jisoo providing crucial support in practicing and adapting to life in Seoul. As BLACKPINK approaches its 10th anniversary, Lisa emphasized the group's strong bond, describing their relationship as being like family.

A Glimpse into Lisa's Personal World

The interview also unveiled several charming personal details about Lisa. She is a proud owner of five cats—Leo, Luca, Lily, Lou, and Lego—and two dogs, Love and Lambo. She confessed to keeping milk chocolate by her bed for late-night or morning snacks and expressed her fondness for chocolate milk.

Lisa also recounted a humorous moment at the Met Gala where she approached actor Bill Skarsgård to say hello before an awkward retreat. When running errands or grabbing coconut water, she prefers the comfort of pajamas and no makeup. From her Super Bowl dreams to her evolution from a teenage YG trainee to a global artist and actress, the episode offered a more personal look at the woman behind Lisa's worldwide success.
