BLACKPINK’s next album after DEADLINE has no confirmed title, release date or tracklist in the official sources reviewed for this guide on October 5, 2026. The latest album project listed in YG’s BLACKPINK discography is DEADLINE, released on February 27, 2026 as the group’s third mini-album.
But that answer leaves a more interesting question for BLINKs: are we waiting for another mini-album, the next full studio album, or simply the next group song? These are three different possibilities, and online comeback discussions often blend them into one.
Here is how to read the next chapter without mistaking an old announcement, a solo release or a convincing fan-made tracklist for a new BLACKPINK album.
Public-source check: October 5, 2026. “Not confirmed in the sources reviewed” does not mean a project cannot be in development privately.
First, Which BLACKPINK Album Are We Waiting For?
The word “album” does a lot of work in K-pop. It can appear in announcements for a full-length studio record, a mini-album or a single album. That makes the release type essential information.
YG labels DEADLINE as “3rd MINI ALBUM.” Its catalogue separately identifies THE ALBUM and BORN PINK as full albums.
The useful distinction is therefore between BLACKPINK’s next album project and BLACKPINK’s next full studio album. A future mini-album would answer the first question, while leaving the second open.
| Release | Date listed by YG | Official catalogue description |
|---|---|---|
| THE ALBUM | October 2, 2020 | Full album |
| BORN PINK | September 16, 2022 | Second full album |
| DEADLINE | February 27, 2026 | Third mini-album |

This is why describing DEADLINE as BLACKPINK’s “third studio album” would be misleading. The number three belongs to its mini-album designation. YG has not identified a next full-length project in the material checked here.

What DEADLINE Actually Added to the Group’s Catalogue
DEADLINE contains five tracks: “JUMP,” “GO,” “Me and my,” “Champion” and “Fxxxboy.” YG’s February 6 tracklist announcement identifies “GO” as the title track, alongside the already released “JUMP.”
For a fan waiting for fresh songs, that distinction matters. The project contains five tracks overall, but “JUMP” had arrived before the album. An album’s total track count and its number of previously unheard songs are not automatically the same.
The announcement also described the project as work developed with care over an extended period. That helps explain its positioning, but it is not a schedule for whatever comes next.
There is still plenty to discuss about the next release without inventing it. Would BLINKs prefer a longer tracklist? More room for vocal exchanges between the members? A group song that draws on the different directions their solo work has explored?
Those are worthwhile editorial questions. They are fan wishes, rather than leaked creative instructions or promises from the group.
The Old Comeback Announcements That Can Look New
One of the easiest ways to misunderstand BLACKPINK’s next album is to encounter a real announcement with its date cropped out.
On August 18, 2025, YG LIFE carried an announcement in which Yang Hyun-suk discussed an intended November album release. The year matters: that was November 2025, not a new November 2026 announcement.
On October 20, 2025, YG said BLACKPINK would begin filming a music video that week and described the album as being in its final stages. Again, this statement predates DEADLINE.
Then the January 2026 release notice set DEADLINE for February 27.
Put those dates together and the confusion becomes clear. A headline about filming a “new” video can remain searchable long after the release it preceded. Reposting it today does not turn it into evidence of a post-DEADLINE comeback.
| Announcement | What it can support today |
|---|---|
| August 18, 2025: intended November release | A historical target discussed in 2025. |
| October 20, 2025: video filming and album preparation | Preparation reported before DEADLINE’s release. |
| January 2026: DEADLINE release notice | The dated announcement for the February 27, 2026 mini-album. |
| A new announcement explicitly naming a subsequent project | This would change the status of the next-album question. |
Before getting excited about a comeback headline, check whether it was published before or after February 27, 2026. That small check can prevent a very large misunderstanding.

Could a New Album Accompany a 2027 Tour?
It is an understandable pairing to imagine: new music, four members together, then a stadium full of BLINKs finally hearing it live.
However, one unconfirmed project cannot establish another. A rumored tour does not prove that an album has been scheduled, and an anticipated album does not establish tour dates.
YG’s concert page is the appropriate place to check the group’s officially listed concerts. Our BLACKPINK 2027 tour guide addresses that separate question and the confusion surrounding speculative schedules.
For this album guide, the status is narrower: no post-DEADLINE title or dated release announcement was established in the sources reviewed. We are not treating 2027 as a confirmed release window.
What Would Make the Next Album Official?
A strong announcement should establish a connection to BLACKPINK’s group music and originate from YG, BLACKPINK’s verified channels or an authorized representative.
Different updates would answer different questions:
- A recording update could establish that group music is being prepared, without setting a release date.
- A dated teaser could establish timing, but might announce a single rather than an album.
- An album notice could confirm the title, release type and purchasing schedule.
- A tracklist could establish the songs included, once published through an official channel.
These are evidence milestones, not a promised order of announcements. A comeback can be revealed in different ways.
Likewise, a member’s solo release belongs to her own catalogue unless it is explicitly credited to BLACKPINK as a group. Solo activity is not a substitute album announcement, and it does not tell us that collective work has stopped.
What BLINKs Can Hope For Without Calling It Confirmed
The most exciting question is not a guessed date. It is what four increasingly distinct artists could bring into a shared project.
As an editorial possibility, a longer release could give the group more space for contrasts: a high-energy opening, a quieter vocal moment, unexpected pairings and songs that develop beyond a title-track performance. A shorter project could pursue a more concentrated idea. Neither format automatically guarantees a better record.
The meaningful detail will be how the songs use JISOO, JENNIE, ROSÉ and LISA together. Track count matters to fans who want more music; musical variety and interaction matter too.
That is a discussion BLINKs can have now, while leaving space for the actual announcement to surprise us.

YG lists DEADLINE, released February 27, 2026, as the third mini-album.
Has BLACKPINK announced an album after DEADLINE?
No subsequent album announcement was established in the official sources reviewed on October 5, 2026.
Is BLACKPINK’s next full album confirmed for 2027?
The sources checked do not establish a 2027 release date or confirm that the next project will be a full album.
Is a circulating tracklist enough to confirm a comeback?
Only if its origin can be traced to an authorized announcement. Artwork, formatting and plausible song titles are not sufficient evidence.
BLINKs can want the next era with their whole heart and still ask for a dated source. The next BLACKPINK album deserves its own announcement—and we should recognize it when it arrives.
